Question:

Could you look at these pics and give me your opinion. Peanuts were sprayed with Cobra, Butyrac, and MSO late last week. The burn looks worse than usual for this combination (maybe because it’s later than we usually spray this combo, the grower had COVID-19 and got behind). The peanuts are the right size for apogee but wondering if you would wait since we have some burn or will apogee still work?

Jordan Answer:

Apogee should still work. If you have decent soil moisture and the peanuts are growing I would not delay the Apogee application very long. I have seen more injury from Cobra this year in my work and I am using 1 pint of crop oil concentrate. But I am still not concerned about that level of injury. I am not a big fan of MSOs as they tend to be hotter than crop oil and I do not think there is any difference in control. There might be more burn on weeds more quickly but ultimately the level of control is essentially the same, when they are compared side-by-side.
