Hen showmen, Chloe Jordan and Anna Claire Barrett set up their hens for judging.

The brisk early morning air was filled with feathers and fur as twenty 4-H youth participated in the 14th annual 4-H Rabbit and Chicken Show on December 3rd! 4-H’ers from across the area woke up extra early on a Saturday morning to brave the cold and show off their prized projects at the Plymouth Livestock Barn. Each youth participated in both composition and showmanship classes for their animals. Best-In-Show for the Open Chicken Classes went to Emma Barrett and Best-in-Show for the Rabbit Classes went to MJ McBride. Showmanship champions included chicken exhibitors Anna Claire Barrett and Sherfield Smith and rabbit exhibitors Annabelle Howdy and Deaja Smith.

This year’s show did not include the popular layer hen class, but layer hens are scheduled for arrival in the spring for the 2017 4-H Rabbit and Chicken Show.
